Think of a crate as your dog’s bedroom, their safe space to relax. Crates can help your dog feel safe and keep your young puppy safe when they cannot be supervised. Crates can help with potty training and they can also ensure that your puppy or dog gets the sleep they need. Puppies need up to 20 hours of sleep, while adult dogs sleep between 12 to 14 hours, a 24- hour period.

It is highly recommended to crate train any dog, ideally during puppyhood, that said, even dogs as old as 7 years can be crate trained. Crate trained dogs are welcome in an increasing number of hotels, guest houses and homestays here in India. Also, a crate trained dog will be less stressed when they need to be confined to a crate after an injury or recovery from surgery
