About Me

Every Once in a While a Dog Enters your Life and Changes Everything.

Born in Herford, Germany, dogs have been a constant in my life ever since I remember: I grew up with two Boxers, Bobby and Willie. After moving out at the age of 18, I adopted my first dog (inset). Max was a 3-year-old Labrador Retriever who had been given up by his previous owner. Max was later joined by another Labrador, the highly energetic Wilma.

After moving to India in 1999, I adopted several Indies over the years. I am now pet parent to 4 year old Miles, who grew up as a "lockdown puppy" with the various behavioural issues that many of us who adopted a puppy during that time are familiar with: under-socialisation, reactivity towards humans and dogs, leash pulling and lunging. Miles is the reason I became a dog trainer: to help him become the dog I knew he could be so he could live the best life possible.

In 2021, I enrolled in the Level 4 PETbc Accredited Advanced Canine Behaviour Diploma Course and the Level 3 Canine Health & Nutrition Diploma Course, both with the British College of Canine Studies. I completed both courses with DISTINCTION.

In early 2022, I completed the Train the Trainer Course for "Advanced Obedience & IGP Dog Sport" at Canaan Pet Resort & K9 Academy, one of the premier dog training centres in India. Following the course, I first interned at Canaan for three months and then worked there for another three months. I trained or was involved in the training of dogs of all sizes, from small breeds like Maltese and Shih-Tzus to big and strong breeds like Rottweilers and Dogo Argentinos.

I now offer dog training services and behavioural consultations as Hundecoach Sabine as in- person consultations within 10 km of Vidyaranyapura, North Bangalore, as well as online. I am also a consulting expert with the Pack.in , a pet care expertise platform that helps pet parents connect with India's top dog experts from the comfort of their home.

I continue my professional education and development through relevant workshops and courses. I am currently enrolled in a “Fun Dog Agility Class Instructor” Diploma Course with the British College of Canine Studies.

Update: Miles, after many months of me learning about his various issues and with consistent and continued training, has indeed become the best version of himself.

In February 2023, Miles became the "big brother" to a working line Rottweiler puppy named Xena, who is now being trained to participate in PSA (Protection Sports Association) trials when she is older.
